Attendance
Being in School - Be on Time
Coming to school regularly and on time makes a big difference to every child. Every morning is a new opportunity to learn something interesting, to play with friends and to grow in confidence.
Absence rates are still significantly higher in Gwynedd than they were before the SarsCov 19 pandemic. We have a school target of 95.5% attendance. This is an ambitious target and is based on ensuring the child's well-being and the child's academic progress as well.
When children arrive on time:
-
They start the day calm and happy.
-
They get a chance to settle, prepare and participate from the start.
-
It is easier for them to catch up with the learning and enjoy activities with their class.
Morning hours
-
The gate opens at 8:50.
-
The gate closes at 9:00. After this time, the learning has already started, so it is important that everyone has come in before then.
Breakfast Club
The Breakfast Club is open from 8:15 onwards. This is a welcoming place where children can have a healthy bite to eat, spend time with their friends and have a nice start to the day.
Why is attendance important?
-
Children who come to school every day have more opportunities to learn.
-
It helps to create a good routine that prepares them for the future.
-
It provides the opportunity to build strong relationships with friends and staff.
By coming to school every day and on time, every child is ready to enjoy, learn and thrive.
